Austrian BioImaging is an association of Austrian universities and leading research institutions, offering access to cutting-edge research infrastructures (RIs) in biological and preclinical imaging to researchers and the private sector, regardless of their affiliations. We are also the national node of Euro-BioImaging, a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC).

Development of multimodal imaging pipelines
Multimodal imaging is a powerful approach that combines different imaging modalities to provide a more comprehensive view of biological systems and processes. By integrating information from different imaging techniques, multimodal imaging can provide advantages over using a single modality alone. Austrian BioImaging/CMI members working closely together in multimodality pipelines, which can provide a mechanistic understanding of diseases and organisms by adding structural information.
Research on cutting-edge imaging tools
One of the key missions of Austrian BioImaging/CMI is to promote the development and innovation of cutting-edge imaging technologies. Some members excel in industry-driven research projects complemented by a diverse range of imaging methods. Some others also specialize in developing and implementing biomedical imaging technologies for preclinical research and clinical diagnostics.

Euro-BioImaging is a leading European research infrastructure for biological and biomedical imaging, officially recognized by the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI). With Euro-BioImaging, life scientists gain access to cutting-edge imaging instruments, expert guidance, training opportunities, and data management services that may not be available at their home institutions or through their existing collaborations.
